COMMITTEE CAPTAINS
Responsibility Level: High
Description: You're in charge of the planning for this aspect of AAN & managing it at the Event itself. Work closely with AAN Planning Committee Chair.
Commitment: About 6 hrs a month until AAN

CAPTAINS NEEDED:
Set-up/Break-down Captain
AAN will not be held at ArtWorks this year. This means a lot of materials, chairs, tables and equipment will need to be borrowed from other organizations and brought to the Museum of Contemporary Science (MOCS) building. You will be responsible for 1) identifying organizations who would lend the necessary materials, furniture, and equipment 2) figure out a way to transport them to MOCS and 3) return them after AAN.
Contact Michael Gumpert to volunteer.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Responsibility Level: Medium
Description: Discuss and implement Committee specific goals under leadership of Captain.
Commitment: About 4 hours a month until AAN

COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED:
"Special Projects" Committee (4 members needed)
Organize other unique, quirky, funky art-related attractions in addition to the art gallery and live music. Some ideas that are being considered but by no means final include: Demonstration by graffiti artists, Outdoor art movies on a 25ft screen, Demonstration by physically disabled artists, Art Cars and, most importantly, ideas and projects which explain what and where Artworks is. Regarding the latter - many patrons of AAN 2008 will have never heard of Artworks. One of the purposes of the AAN is to increase enrollment in Artworks classes and attendance at gallery shows. The fact that AAN is not being held at Artworks makes this need especially important.
Contact Kate Graves to volunteer.

THREE WEEKS BEFORE THE EVENT
Responsibility Level: Low but intense
Description: Help with projects that require a lot of work right before the Event.
Commitment: Intense help during weekends before AAN

WHO’S NEEDED THREE WEEKS BEFORE THE EVENT?
Build Gallery Walls (10 volunteers needed)
Can you lift 50 pounds without hurting yourself? Are you good with your hands and know how to use a cordless drill? If you answered yes to both of these questions, and can commit to being free to volunteer on the three weekends before AAN then you would be an asset here. One of the conditions of using the Roebling factory building is that we cannot drill into or deface the walls. Therefore, Gallery Walls will need to be built for all the art this year.
Contact Scott Allen to volunteer.

Distribute Lawn Signs, Postcards, Posters (5 volunteers needed)
Throughout Mercer, upper Burlington, and lower Bucks counties: place lawn signs in strategic locations, persuade business owners to put up AAN posters in their windows, distribute event literature to community organizations, libraries, arts related businesses, museums, etc. Must have a car and can commit to being free to volunteer on the three weekends before AAN.
Contact Chris Tharp to volunteer.
