Art All Night 2011 seeks 350 Volunteers for  its 5th annual arts festival

Art All Night 2011 seeks the assistance of approximately 350 volunteers during its 24-hour exhibit on the weekend of June 18-19, 2011.  The entire event is volunteer led and driven, from planning to execution.  Art All Night is largely unique, bringing together a diverse group of individuals from all over the State of New Jersey as well as Bucks County (PA) interested in building community and awareness for the local arts, artists and the revitalization of the city of Trenton.

A variety of positions are available, ranging from day-of event volunteers to positions focusing on the preparation preceding the event and exhibit set-up and break down.  Day-of event volunteers will be needed to work in 3 hour shifts, primarily focusing on the art and exhibits. Others will be needed to manage information tables, parking and merchandise sales. Volunteers who sign on to help in the weeks prior to the event can help with marketing and building projects (kiosks and erecting gallery walls) as well as advocate for the city of Trenton to its underserved communities through the I AM Trenton Community Foundation.

There is a pressing need for captains in the following areas; Media Distribution, Parking and Trash and Recycling.

The Media Distribution Captain will be responsible for coordinating the distribution of marketing materials for AAN 2011 and leading a team of volunteers in executing the distribution plan.  Marketing materials will include posters, lawn signs, banners and postcards and Media Distribution Volunteers will be needed to provide coverage in the following communities in New Jersey, Mercer County Townships, Lambertville and Bordentown and the towns of Morrisville, Yardley and New Hope in Pennsylvania.

The Parking Captain coordinates parking for the event and ensures that parking is regulated and staffed according to needs and established policies of the venue.  The captain will also arranges for necessary signage, flags, barricades and maps needed for the event.  In addition, he/she will supervise and direct volunteer attendants and schedule shifts according to the needs of the event.

If you are you interested in reducing Art All Night’s carbon footprint, a Solid Waste Management and Recycling Captain is needed to initiate the recycling and solid waste reduction plans for AAN 2011.  The captain will be responsible for project planning, implementation, training volunteers, monitoring and modification at the event and working with outside waste and recycling vendors.  Lead volunteers in also providing information to the attendees and increase awareness of recycling and clean-up efforts and programs.

Volunteers will also receive a variety or perks including a free AAN 2011 t-shirt and pre-event party! So, if you are interested in devoting some of your time to a great cause, surround yourself with wonderful people and have an amazing time doing it all, visit our web-site at www.artworkstrenton.org/artallnight or e-mail volunteeraan@gmail.com to learn more about the various opportunities available and how you can help.
