The Hot Taters

Website: www.myspace.com/hottatersband
Description: Who are the Hot Taters? Out of the still steaming ashes of a previous band, which was pretty good in its own right, come the Hot Taters, a collection of experienced musicians happily embering on Hot Jazz from the 20's, 30's, and 40's, those bright raucous lucious tunes of the Depression Era, at a time when people are again growing familiar with such troubles. But call the Taters Hot Fun Trouble. They come carrying a trumpet and a trombone, and another horn and yet another one, a clarinet, a keyboard and a banjo, a guitar and of course drums. And they all have names: Britt, Pete, Ron, Henry, Wayne and Mose. They operate out of Central Jersey, though they will travel; and they love playing the dancing and swooning songs - those tunes made famous by Armstrong and Bichet, Berlin, Porter and Reinhardt - that sweet interwoven harmonic music that will get you squeezing your baby and moving your feet. And these young old underground Taters have been busy. In the their short time together they have played at dancehalls, Farmers Markets, and private parties - both indoor and out ... So if you want to have fun and you feel your ambiance is right, give them a holler. They gig on the spur of the moment and they play to please. It's really very simple with them: they play their asses off, and you have fun.
